Charles Whitaker Papers 1895 - 1896

Charles Whitaker was a student at the North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts in the mid-1890s. Alexander Quarles Holladay (1839-1909) was a Civil War veteran, lawyer, educator, Virginia state senator, and college president. He was named the first president of North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts (later North Carolina State University) upon its opening in 1889 and remained so for ten years until his retirement in 1899. Hugh Williams Primrose was one of six sons born to William Stuart Primrose and Ella Williams Primrose. He was born January 21, 1878 and died January 27, 1904.
